With a backwards political climate and a society that seems to get worse by the day, this trio are not afraid to tackle the issues head on with intense post-punk awesomeness. Music-wise, these guys are coming at you with a wall of sound, all driving guitars and booming percussion, bolstered by enigmatic front-woman Lucy’s powerful vocals. The band describe themselves as ‘Gritty, pretty post-punk’, and we can’t think of a description more fitting of their raw, emotional sound.
get linkBuy Cheap Roche Valium Formed by Lucy Jowett (vocals), Jacob Marston (drums), and Joe Clarke (guitar), their brand of gritty post-punk has already garnered praise from the likes of BBC Introducing, as well interest from a number of music blogs. Following the success of their first single, the band signed to Leeds label Dance To The Radio, whose roster includes everything from post-punk legends Forward Russia, to chart-toppers The Pigeon Detectives. Since then, the band have released two more singles, including Drain You and most recently, ‘I Can’t Wait’, a commentary on the pressures of creativity and how art is often viewed as insignificant or unproductive. Having played Live At Leeds festival to a packed out crowd and blowing the minds of all in attendance at Hit The North Festival, the trio’s reputation for raucous live shows has secured them a slot at this year’s Leeds Festival.
