Brain Leak

Brain Leak is a project by Cardiff born, Manchester based musician Tara-Gabriella Engelhardt. Revolving around honesty and vulnerability, her lyrics consist of personal diary-entry stories that thread together themes of attachment, escapism and relationships.

Sonically inspired by the punchy sound of artists like Pixies and Cherry Glazer, Brain Leak captures the vulnerability of her self-reflection in the interplay between softness and deep over-driven tones echoing her frustrations.

Meanwhile her heartfelt lyrics and intentional delivery reflect influences from artists such as Cut Worms, Supersick and Ought for their poetic insights and emotive melodies.

As well as being the visionary of Brain Leak, Tara is also known as the lead vocalist and drummer in the Manchester based three-piece “Adjustments”. This project however, sees Tara take center stage swapping her drums for guitar. She is currently backed by an iconic line-up of a band with Giulia Bonometti from WMC/Julia Bardo/Splint on bass, Jess Branney from Peaness on guitar and Sid Hand-Halford from The Orielles on drums.
